The pattern's here: [link] Sorry, it's a HUUUUUUGE file but these things take time. I've actually had to chop it in half. It's too huge for DeviantArt! OK, well basically I've been pestered several times for a pattern for my little horses ([link]); so I've broken my back slaving for hours over fabric and a computer, for your benefit. Ah, I'm a glutton for punishment
I like everything to be nice and proportionate so I came up with this proportionate horse plush pattern last year. I've made it three times now, each time slightly refining the pattern.
PS: these things are not commercially viable because they take too long. I am, however running out of space for these bloody horses! They're about 30cm long and 40 cm tall. I still have the palomino and the dun for sale so if you'd like to buy them, then note me. They probably will be around $50, and if you think that's steep just remember what I did haha.
Not really much else to say. I know this is not a terribly clear tutorial but I hope at least someone finds it useful. Credit and link if you use it. The quarter horse photo is from [link]
I originally wanted to use this felt to make a fjord horse but I really couldn't be stuffed altering my pattern: besides, you people wanted a regular horse. So here you are. Part 2 is here: [link]
Thank you! The tutorial is detailed and very easy to follow. I am looking forward to the next part.

your way of doing manes is so much better than mine. I get little lengths of thread, tie a knot in the middle of each one and through the knot onto the needle and thread, and stitch them in as I stitch the back of the neck. Crap way of doing it! Mind you cos mine are only teeny plushes, I don't need to use so many strands.
I am understanding how you do it now, sections at a time... I'm stuck in this mindset that I have to have 2 halves, right and left, which means things don't always line up... plus then there's underpieces and such, and I just get too confused lol.
Yeah..for my first plush I did the little lengths of thread thing..but it was kind of suckage They kept falling out. And I neglected to get enough thread so my Me plush is rather balding.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
