Opulence that watches you

This is one of my two textiles majors (yes, I had to do two..I only had three days of class time for each :S so I had to work pretty solidly out of class time for three weeks.) Embroidery takes a very long time. For instance it took about 40 minutes to embroider ONE of those little green feathers at the top, and an hour or more in front of the tv to do one eye and surrounding decorative stitching.

I was going for a whole opulence with thousands of bejewelled eyes, inspired by indian and kazakh embroidery. Mum says it reminds her of a mysterious russian spy lady from Dr Zhivago or something.

Oh well..I was proud of it, even if my textiles teachers didn't seem satisfied. I think I want to change workshops, the teachers in textiles are ridiculously demanding and mean to boot....it's possible I'm just overreacting, and I do love textiles but since I worked my arse off for this and apparently that isn't enough...I don't see how I can cope with two and a half years more of this.
